OOTD #008; I'm Just Saying, You Could Do Better. & Leopard Print Nails!

blouse; republic skirt; topshop belt; primark bag; tesco
rings; h&m and topshop bangles; primark

I've not really done much today, just been out to the shops briefly and visited some family. I really don't want to get my hair cut, but I haven't now for about a year and I think I probably should. I just hate the fact with my hairdresser, I say 2cm off, and next thing I've got literally shoulder length hair. But I don't want to end up like Rapunzel so I think I'll have the chop just before I go on holiday :)

So this morning I decided to paint my nails Leopard Print! It's probably one of the first nail art designs I could ever do, because leopard print is so beautifully imperfect, mistakes most of the time make it look better! I've always stick to original leopard rather than colour leopard print as I always get worried it's going to look tacky, even though so many people recently have looked amazing with it. I used 17's Forever for the base, Barry Ms Mushroom for the dots and a black nail pen for around the edge.

Hope you have lovely weekends! xoxoxox

Haul; Avon, GOSH, No7, Probably the most awaited issue of Glamour ever...

So I'd planned to go shopping with some of my friends today, and stupid me forgot. Literally ten o'clock this morning, I heard a load of people outside my house banging on the windows, honestly thought I'd fallen victim to a bunch of youths who'd decided to terrorize me haha (it COULD of happened!). Anyway five minutes of me dragging a comb through my hair and shoving on some wonky eyeliner and we were off to the trafford centre. Now don't get me wrong, I love shopping, and I adore my friends, but the two together just doesn't make such a good combination. I always end up buying things I don't really want, spending half my time in shops I have literally no interest in and trying on majorly embarrassing clothes in topshop changing rooms to be taken pictures of and put straight on facebook in the name of humour (ok so the last one I don't mind so much haha, it's always hilarious trying to make the ugliest outfit ever work).

On another note HOW bloody annoying are those women at the make-up counters? Today in boots the benefit woman actually dragged me to the counter after I made eye contact (BIG mistake). I tried to explain I was completely broke and therefore I couldn't afford anything even remotely high end and I was running late for my train anyway so I couldn't stop, but she still found it necessary to gabble on about a load of products for about five minutes and would i like to sample any? No, I'd only come in for glamour magazine thankyou very much, GOODBYE.
So I obviously ended up buying three copies, I've been thinking for a long time about getting a decent cheek/lip tint, so these are perfect samples to test whether it's worth splashing the cash, and then ofcourse I had to give high beam a go! I'm not gonna blabber on about this whole Glamour Magazine offer because I think just about every girl in the UK has discussed it but it really is a good deal, and if you're thinking of trying any of the three now is your perfect chance! But now I do have three copies of Glamour, I might go out on the streets and try and sell them off big issue style.
So while I was in there I popped to the No7 counter on the hunt for something fairly cheaply I could buy with one of my no7 vouchers, and the woman recommended these eyeliners so I decided to give the black a go, when I swatched it in the shop it seemed pretty creamy and I think it'll be beautiful on a night out to jazz everything up a little! It's £7.75 without the voucher and in all honestly I probably wouldn't of bought it full price, but for under £3 it's a massive bargain!
Left To Right; Peachy, Miss Sweety, Hot Coral
Now, I think I'm becoming a BIT obsessed with nail polish. I just can't stop buying the stuff! These were probably a little pricier than I'd like at £4.99 each, but the bottles are just so sleek and beautiful I once again got persuaded by the packaging. I love all three of these colours, Peachy, believe it or not is a PEACH colour (no shit sherlock, I am such a good blogger), Miss Sweety a kinda creamy light peach colour (yeah, something like that...) and Hot Coral, which seems to look brick red in some lights, and a beautiful coral in others, but either way I love it, and doesn't really match any of my other corals, so I'm happy!
Now onto my avon order, I seem to go through catalogues I don't think much of, and others (like this months) I end up buying quite a few products.
First off I got this cute face mask gift set for a "cheap as chips" £3 (apologies for the David Dickinson reference haha, only thing I could think of on the spot). For this there is 12 masks, two of each type!
Secondly, this angled brush was on offer from the usual £6.00 to £3.00 so I snapped it up, you are a FOOL if you live in england and buy any avon brush full price, literally every other month they seem to have some kind of offer on. (I say this when I've bought about three brushes there full price and then regretted it... oops).
Third this pretty nail polish in Golden Twilight which looks a dark browny black colour with gold and bronze sparkles, how pretty! So looking forward to giving this a go, and at a third of the usual price at £2!
Then I got this Magix Face Perfector for a bloody amazing price of £5.25, when it usually retails for about £11. I've wanted to try this for ages, but I had a perfectly adequate alternative and other things were higher on my priority list. However my No7 primer is reaching it's end so I'll be giving this a go. I'm still pretty new on the primer front so if you guys have any recommendations let me know!
Now probably what I'm most excited about, the Jill Dempsey For Avon Professional Corrector Palette. Now I'm pretty sure this is a new addition to Avon because it's something I've never spotted before. This will rob you for £10, but it's currently on an introductory offer of £6, which I think is amazing value considering what you're getting. Now I got the light version but there is also a darker variation. The four concealers each do something, the lilac hides imperfections and conceals dark circles, the pink brightens dull skin and disguises dark spots, the apricot gives warmth to cheekbones and browbones, and the yellow counteracts redness on the face and t-zone. Now I've fancied a palette of this kind for a while so I'm so excited to try it, I really hope it doesn't let me down!

Now that's probably it for makeup and stuff now for a while, I know I keep saying that, but I literally went in both boots and superdrug and resisted the urge to buy any lipsticks! RESULT.
Anyway I have a REALLY fun weekend planned i.e. telling all my friends I've dropped out of college. Cue lots of "you bitch you can't leave me" "are you going to work in mcdonalds now?" and other abuse haha, absolutely dreading it. I really HATE confrontation, I'm one of those people who purposefully will phone somebody at 2am knowing their phone will be off to tell them something via voicemail haha, I'm awful!
Hope you lovelys had a good day! xoxoxoxox

How Much Does Your Face Cost?!

 Face;
Eyes;
Avon Eyeshadow Quad in Tigers Eye (no longer available) - £8.00 (used for brows and crease)
Lips;

Grand Total; £93.20
So honestly, I didn't expect it to be that much. I don't use high-end products, so I didn't even imagine, just the things I use everyday would add up to nearly £100! When you start picking out what you apply everyday, it's kinda scary just how many things you do pick up without realizing, I didn't even include blush! I did include two lipsticks, because I either use Sleeks Bare All or Revlon Lipstain combined Natural Collections Raspberry all the time, and I honestly couldn't say which I reach for more, it just depends on my mood. I can only hope nobody nicks my make up bag, or I'll have to break the bank to replace this stuff! I can't help but wonder what my entire make up collections worth, but frankly I don't think I want to know!
How much do you guys reckon your face is worth?!

Life Updates/Ramble

1. So after many sleepless nights and long walks I've decided to drop out of college. I just don't think it's for me. When I first went I seriously loved it, but recently I've been looking into my future and none of my subjects were really what I wanted them to be. I think I'm just bored of the whole education thing and the thought of doing another year of college, and probably 4 years of uni to get a psychology degree makes me feel physically sick! I revised so hard for these tests so I'll probably come out with a good mark (hopefully). So onto a combination of open uni degree, paid work and volunteer work ideally come September!
2. This means I now have a massive summer, starting.... now! It's at least 3 weeks until all my friends finish college so I seriously need something to do. Ideas guys?! Of course I'll be working a lot more on my blog, I'll have so much more time on my hands!
3. I actually took my umbrella to college today, determined to not get wet and to keep my hair in perfect straight bliss. Then clever little me left my umbrella at the library, hopped off to mcdonalds, literally as soon as we got in mcdonalds it started to completely tip it down and with ten minutes before I should be at the exam room I had to leg it back to college, to do my exam soaking wet and shivering. Good plan that was. Luckily somebody had handed in my beautiful leopard print umbrella in at the library so all was not lost, but I had to deal with the snotty librarian taking in my details, just incase I was an opportunist ASKING if there was an umbrella on the off chance and it wasn't actually mine :|
4. To finish my stressful day, a well deserved face mask! I usually stick to my avon face masks, but I've temporarily run out so I picked out a few from superdrug. Out of all the selection in superdrug, I managed to pick out the ONLY "mens" facemask of the lot without realizing! I was on the train back when I was looking at what I'd bought and saw this man on the front of my facemask. There I was blissfully thinking "Oh, I guess the facemasks ARE unisex" when I saw the "for men" bit on the corner. GREAT. It's some major intense facemask, I guess it's fine to put on my face, but I still haven't risked it! I need to stop buying things when I'm in a rush, this mishap is not alone, only the other day i managed to pick up a Manchester United poster "keep calm and win titles" as opposed to "keep calm and carry on" I thought I'd bought, ooops!

Sorry this was the quickest and shittest blog post ever but I will be sorting my act out and getting some of the posts I want to make out sooon, if you guys have any requests let me know! Hope you're all well and had lovely days or atleast better than mine! xoxoxox

Haul & Ramble

I know, I know another haul! But this really is the last one for a while now I'm completely broke! I realised I was missing a few bits for summer so I went out on the search for a few bargains!
I love these "boyfriend" style shorts from H&M from £19.99 and they're probably my favourite purchase. I have loads of tight and high waisted denim shorts, but these are really lose on the legs and waist, and I think these will look amazing with a belt and an oversized top. LOVE them, and H&M have a really good selection of shorts at really affordable prices so I might pick up a different pair before summers over!

I have literally NO coats with hoods, and all my umbrellas seem to be better for show than actually shielding me from rain, so I've been looking a nice mac everywhere! I found this mac from Peacocks for £14.00 and I love it. I can wear it alone or underneath my leather jacket and more to the point, it doesn't make me look like a female version of Roy Cropper!

Now in Matalan I sort of went a little mental on the shorts. I got four pairs £8 each. I love the patterns, and they do genuinely look like skirts at a first glance. I like the fact I don't have to grab these frantically everytime the wind blows like with skirts, shorts are just easier to wear and these are so cute! Can't wait to wear these all on holiday, note my brilliant photography skills putting leopard print shorts on a leopard print background - GOOD ONE.
shorts 1, 2, 3 and 4

This didn't really come up true to colour it's more purple in real life, in the bottle it looks like a complete dupe of the Andrea Fulerton Kate which I've been meaning to buy for a while now. I've wanted to try one of the pro range for ages, and this Matt Purple looks lovely and i'll probably feature it in a nail of the day post soon. I just love the colour and well worth the slightly too expensive in my opinion £8.

Finally these two lipsticks I bought yesterday I am in love with! The top colour, Topshop "On The Town" is a gorgeous lilac colour I've been wearing all day. Considering it's a matte it's not too drying and a lot easier to wear than I'd thought. Really already one of my favourite shades!
Now onto Sleeks "Vixen" which is a lovely classic red colour. I do adore it, but it's not a "unique" colour, infact every lipstick range probably has a similar shade. Nevertheless I do adore it and I love how pigmented this lipstick is for the £3.99 it cost!

Also I'm in love with Rihannas Man Down Video, Major style inpiration from her long plait, her nude lip and dramatic eye, the jamaican vibe, god I could go on for hours! Though it's not to be ignored, though this is a massive tune the video tells the story of Rihanna shooting a man in Graaaand Centraaaal Statioooooon in front of a big olllllll' crowd, which it's later shown is in retaliation of a sexual assault the previous night. This of course has sparked major controversy but I salute Rihanna for bringing to attention issues which people don't really seem to talk about, aswell as Man Down, her collaboration with Eminem; Love The Way You Lie brought attention to domestic violence. And above all that, she makes it into catchy tunes and looks bloody gorgeous the majority of the time without being a size zero. Basically, I'm in love with her. It's a bit obvious, yes?!

and it's FRIDAY! Hope you all have lovely weekends! I've as usual left revision to the complete last minute so I'll be cramming all weekend for Tuesdays exam, God help me! xoxox

Haul; Superdrug, Boots, Savers, Topshop etc..

I seem to be buying more rings and make up than anything at the moment. I went in various charity shops today determined to get something! I don't like this shirt with the sleeves, but I think once they're cut off I can definitely combine it with a bodycon skirt and hopefully make it work, and if it doesn't for £3.50 it's not the end of the world. Though I do think charity shops in my area need to look at their prices, they wanted a fiver for a black and white stripe plain top... from primark! It probably didn't cost that brand new!

I seriously recommend Red magazine this month. I've never actually read the magazine before, but the free gift was too much to resist! For £3.80, you get a free Jemma Kidd Lipgloss which retails at £14.00. There's three shades, a light pink, a coral and a red (the red was made exclusively for Red Magazine). I chose the coral colour, a beautiful shade that goes on fairly sheer yet beautiful on the lips. At that price though, I think I'll be going back for the red!

Currently everything Ruby & Millie is 75% off! I've never really been "wow"ed by the few products I've bought from there, honestly I thought it was all a bit overpriced (£10 for a nail polish?!). But at 75% off, I fancied checking out whether any of the brushes were lying around in my local boots. The whole stand had been cleared of all the good stuff; typical! But I did manage to grab the last foundation brush, reduced from £12 to £3!
Then using one of those lovely no7 vouchers I decided to go for the No 7 Eyeshadow Blend and Contour brush, a supposed dupe of the MAC 217 which I'd never buy seeing as I refuse to spend £15.00 on an eyeshadow brush. And this is a bargain at £6.75, but even better with a £5 voucher making it a fabulous £1.75!
I had a really keen and generally lovely lady at the till who seemed more happy at my bargains than me haha, and she told me if I could add another 25p then I'd get another five pound voucher, so ofcourse I bought a good old creme egg!

I love this ring! I've been painting my nails pretty bright for spring/summer so I've found it difficult to match them with rings without clashing. I never wear silver so I opted for gold and I really do love the leaf wrap design!

I've been meaning to try Topshop makeup for a while, there's so much I wanted to try and I didn't really know where to start! I love the packaging, and a lot of the time it really is a decider on what product I buy. So as Topshop are having 20% off for students all this week I thought this would be the perfect time.
I wanted a blush, I've been lusting after both Flush and Neon Rose for quite some time, I decided to opt for Flush. These are cream to powder blushes, which I've been preferring recently and even though the colour is REALLY scary (trust me this picture does it no justice, have a look in store), it really does come out a really sheer and beautiful rose colour that does honestly give you a "flush" of colour :P
Then I've been wanting a lilac colour but I just couldn't find "the right one" in drugstore. I really didn't want to fork out on higher end, so when I saw this on the topshop website I was VERY happy! It really is a beautiful colour, a nice lilac called "On The Town" which doesn't look too drying! I'll let you all know, I've never really had a purple lipstick, I think it's a kindof love/hate thing, but hopefully I'll like it.

This ring is probably my favourite purchase of today! I've never really looked at Matalan jewellery, but this double finger anchor ring is lovely! And it was on sale from £5 to £2 so ofcourse I snapped it up! I also bought another ring but it BROKE in my bag so I haven't shown that haha!
Bought this shower and bath gel from asda purely because it smells AMAZING! I got the small 100ml bottle for a bargain of £1! So if the smell lasts and it really is half decent I'll be buying a bigger bottle!

I've been meaning to buy this QVS "airbrush" brush for ages from Superdrug but honestly I'm not too sure it was worth the £8. I was hoping to use it for foundation but it doesn't seem very dense, it's probably going to be better for blush or bronzer. Kinda disappointed, really don't want to splash out on the MAC 187 :(

I decided to pick up another sleek lipstick, this time "Vixen" a really classic red colour, I probably have about 4 other lipsticks similar to but still ;)
I decided to pick up this blush after seeing it on a couple of blogs, it's such a pretty colour. I've never really gone near the Beauty UK stand, just because it's slightly more expensive than the other "really cheap" brands (MUA, 2True, Natural Collection, Miss Sporty etc) yet the packaging really does look cheap, for example their lipsticks cost the same as sleek and yet I find sleek lipsticks much nicer and the packaging looks a lot better.. which brand I buy from? SLEEK. Despite all this though for £3.99 this baked blush is beautiful. I got the shade "Peaches and Cream", which is a peachy gold colour with hints of coral.

From Savers I picked up this Simple face mask. I love the simple range, and I love face masks, so this was a match made in heaven! Can't wait to try it and see if it lives up to expectations! and for £1 you can't go far wrong!
While I was there I also picked up this hair removal cream. Now I've always hated hair removal cream due to the whole smell thing, I absolutely despise the smell :( However this is meant to have a floral scent, I don't know how true this is or whether the horrible smell will overpower it, but for £1 I figured it was worth giving a go!
And lastly a tin of Vaseline with SPF15 for my lips when I'm on holiday, another bargain at £1! :)

I got this from a charity shop for £1.99 on the kind of idea I'd put something in it. Though now I'm back at home I have literally no idea. I was thinking bobby pins but I would never fill a jar this size with them! Arrrrgh.

Swatches of all the lipsticks/lipglosses/blushes, bare in mind these are heavily swatched, the Topshop blush comes out a lot sheerer than that and baked Beauty UK blush really didn't swatch well at all!

Now to finish the day, I will be watching Britains Got Talent - which I'm afraid to say really is a joke this year, whilst eating some of my favourite sweets from my childhood, NERDS! xoxoxoxo

OOTD #007; Stop The Engine, Stop Pretending.

Ignore the state of my hair, really wouldn't work for me today so I shoved it in a top bun with limited success. Went out for a meal today, I've been feeling a bit down recently but it really helped to cheer me up. Still in love with these sunglasses from primark, and I got this dress from a one-off boutique in my town for £6! bargain! I love this primarni belt, I think I have about five of this exact belt in black/brown just because I always wear one! I love this cute satchel from primark, and I've been liking a good polka dot on my nails of recent! I'm off shopping tomorrow, so I'll probably end up with a few bits from boots and superdrug as usual!
Hope you guys are having a lovely day! xoxoxo
